In this assignment, I learned that being a photographer in the early days of photography (prior to view finders) was challenging because you were never certain of what you photograph until you developed the photos. It required careful planning to get a nicely composed photo.
I was surprised to find some nicely composed photos; there were even some with depth of field. Depth of field is challenging for me to achieve under normal circumstances, but I accidentally got several shots with good depth of field.
This activity gave me confidence in my depth of field skills and has made me think more carefully about composition. It has also given me appreciation to photographers who came before me.
